Last night Maren had two friends spend the night. They asked if they could go up the street and "chalk" Abby. Chalking is when you write on someone's drivewave and sidewalk with chalk and leave them funny messages. Knowing Abby (aka our other daughter/tax deduction) we said yes. When Maren and her friends got home they started talking and Maren learned that one of her friends had written on Abby's garage with the chalk. I looked at Maren and she knew what she needed to do.
She got a bucket, some rags, some soap, and grabbed her friends and made them head back up the street to wash the garage. Of course since it was night, the girls did not get it all off even though they thought they did.
Today, Abby came over while Maren was at her soccer game and asked Rich if Maren "chalked" her and wrote on the garage then threw in that her Dad was really upset. Rich texted me and I told Maren.
On the way home from the game, Maren told me that she needed to go tell Abby's Dad that she was sorry. She was going to tell him that she didnt write on the garage, and that when she found out that one of the girls had that she did try to clean it up. She was also going to tell him she would clean it up again if she needed to.
She put her brave face on, knocked on the door, told Austin she needed to talk to his Dad. Abby came to the door in the mean time, and Maren started to tell her the apology, to which Abby told her, "I was just kidding when I told your Dad that, my dad wasnt mad. I was just playing a joke since you chalked me." By then Maren was in tears and the two friends were hugging.
Well, we received a phone call later from Abby's parents thanking Maren for coming over and doing something that they are sure was very hard. They said they love Maren and that they could never be mad at her.
We are so proud of her. She is an amazing young lady. We love you Maren.

Oh my goodness! Maren Brown you are the best! Seriously that brought a few tears to my eyes. I love that courageous girl and how even when she was so afraid she did that. We all need to learn from this!
So awesome! I hope my little daughter is just like that at Maren's age. :)
